Pode Hole Farm is owned and managed by Charles and Sally Horrell together with their son Harry. The farm lies on the edge of the fens just east of Peterborough and covers 1200 acres mainly arable land. The 150 acres of grass includes land reclaimed from gravel extraction and it supports the pedigree Beef Shorthorn herd. Cropping rotation includes wheat, oilseed rape, peas, sugar beet and maize for the cattle. The farm is in Higher Level Stewardship. Experienced stockman Roy McDonald helps run the 60 cow breeding herd which was established in 1997 and is Hi health and performance recorded.
We are trying a new idea this year and we would like you to be a part of it.
We think (and you may disagree) that we, the staff and committee behind the Festival, are a pretty friendly and flexible bunch. We aim to make the Festival an enjoyable experience where we have the opportunity to show our pride in what we do, from organisers through to exhibitors.
We want to build a strong community spirit around the festival where everyone involved and associated brings something special to the event and help us make it the must attend event for not only the showing and technical aspects but also the fun and social elements.
Where am I going with this I hear you say? We are launching an ambassador programme. We would like to recruit enthusiastic volunteer ambassadors from across the country to help us promote the festival as they visit shows, sales and any other event through the summer and encourage their friends, neighbours and colleagues to attend .
What do you get? We will send you a banner, leaflets, car stickers, schedules (when ready), regular updates about the festival, a WSF gillet and a breakfast voucher for each day of the festival!
If you are interested DM us. Thanks WH
